Pastor Pro Tem, Rev. Lee Atherton

A person driven by faith perceived as love, justice, and compassion, Reverend Lee Atherton began working with Central Congregational Church in February 2024 when she was invited to cover the medical leave of their beloved Pastor Rich. Pastor Lee strongly embraces the UCC statement, “No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.”

Ordained in 2007, Pastor Lee’s ministry has included end-of-life and first-responder chaplaincy, and serving the local church through bridge ministry, pulpit supply, and vacation/sabbatical coverage for churches throughout Massachusetts. Her best friend and service dog, Shadow, is a black lab who you will often find on the Chancel on Sunday mornings. Lee is founder of CoachRev @the CrossRoads (coaching and bereavement support) and Phoenix Rising: Service Dogs Saving Lives. She is an international speaker and best-selling author.
