Free Classical Music Concert

Duo of Hope, an internationally renowned ensemble featuring cellist Taide Prieto and pianist Francisco Fernandez, will offer a concert of classical works by Bach, Beethoven, Elgar, and others on Sunday, October 28, at 3 p.m. at Central Congregational Church, UCC in Chelmsford. The church is located at 1 Worthen Street, Chelmsford. There is no admission fee, but a free-will offering will support a trip by the church choir to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as a free community Christmas concert at the church on December 9.

Duo of Hope, which formed in 2011, has traveled across the United States, Latin America, and Europe to perform in notable venues of the classical music world. Prieto hails from Peru and Fernandez from Mexico; both are graduates of the Boston Conservatory. They also keep a busy schedule as solo performers and music educators in the Boston area. Prieto is a co-founder/co-director of the Boston String Academy, a leading non-profit organization inspired by El Sistema, a successful music education philosophy that uses music as a vehicle for social change. Fernandez is the Music Director at Central Congregational Church in Chelmsford.  For more information and directions to the church, call 978 256-5931 or visit www.cccchelmsford.org.
