Installation of Dr. Rev. Rich Knight: Sunday, November 13
Rev. Dr. Rich Knight was officially installed as pastor of Central Congregational Church on Sunday, November 13 at 3:00 pm. Rev. Knight began his ministry at the church on July 1 of this year.
The Service of Installation included a message from Rev. Linda Hirst, a former colleague of Rev. Knight at First Parish Church in York, Maine. Music was provided by the church choir, directed by Francisco Fernandez, accompanied by his wife, professional cellist Taide Prieto. Rev. Wendy Vander Hart, Associate Conference Minister of the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ, lead the installation.
Pastor Rich most recently served for six years at Trinitarian Congregational Church of North Andover, previously serving 14 years at First Parish Church in York, Maine, and 13 years at Ridge Valley UCC in Sellersville, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Muhlenberg College; Princeton Theological Seminary, where he earned his Master of Divinity; and Eastern University, where he earned his Doctor of Ministry in Marriage and Family Ministry.
In more than 33 years of ministry, Pastor Rich has demonstrated a profound commitment to mission. He has led more than 500 youth in week-long mission trips and joined CCC’s mission to Downeast Maine in August, making homes warm, safe, and dry for those less fortunate. A certified “End of Life Coach” for the dying and grieving, Rev. Knight also loves to lead support groups, meditation groups, Bible studies and book clubs throughout the year.
We are incredibly blessed to welcome Pastor Rich into our faith community. He brings many gifts to our church as a leader, counselor, preacher, and a Christian who lives and shares his faith deeply.
“It’s a wonderful congregation," says Pastor Rich, “filled with faith-filled folks who never stop trying to make a difference in this world!”
